Draft Grade: C-
|
| Simple and smart was the name of the game
for the Jets during the 2007 NFL Draft. In order to land
the most coveted CB in this class, the Jets traded up in
round one to obtain Darelle Revis, who combines size
and speed to be a potential nightmare for opposing receivers.
Lacking a true #1 Corner, the choice for Revis was right
on the money. In round two, the Jets bolstered the LB corps
by adding a MLB with tenacity and range in the form of Michigan's
David Harris, who should become a starter alongside
All-Pro Jonathon Vilma in New York's 3-4 defense. Landing
Revis and Harris will improve this defense, and the cost
was draft picks. The Jets didn't select again until round
six and on day two they added very little value. Thus, the
Jets grade (and in fact, their entire 2007 Draft) rests
on two players, Revis and Harris. |
